i hate the sarcastic way the vilares is narated. The issues are not not a joke, it's somthing very serious. There needs to be some seriousness brought into it. Like the over all effort. I just think that less sarcasism would attractive the more serious and intelectual crowd into buying this magazine. Best of luck.

i watched the cd and i found it was very good. it gave me so much of insight knowledge of the regime. i hope this magazine would increase the public awareness among people living in islands. i hope vilares team and all my friends would do their best to distribute the original copies to all the islands in the maldives. some of the videos are really good for our elders to watch and take a good message from it. and i think this is the time for all of my beloved Maldivians to act like fools and stand for the rights. and this is the time to acquire the truth and the dark sides of government officials and throw them out from their seats. because we didn't put them there do what ever good for them. we keep them to do their job and they r not performing their job. so we MUST call their resignation.

Any chance that it could be cut short? I mean get rid of the repetitions and incorporate new material? One does get tired of listening to seyku rasheed and the following narrative, WE GET IT move on!
And as moyameeha suggested, it would be great if this could be made available online on a regular basis. Even if it is old issues.
i found vilares video magazine as one of da best...but still u coul make it alittle longer and include some of the articles in english so tht other nations also will know of this brutal regime...

The popularity of the devil was revealed in the results of the last 5 consecutive terms he was elected as the Maldivian President.
The study revealed that among the 300,000 plus population of the Maldives, from persons interviewed, belief in the devil's existence was up 20 per cent whereby he was able to form the DRP (by hoodwinking and arm twisting) and the certainty of Allah's existence in his own party DRP is at zero (The DRPists worship Maumoon and believe that he is half God half man) and belief among the population was down 10 per cent. A great job and success story for the guy who started with abolishing Naraka (Hell) from the education curriculum and Forfeiting Hijab at government offices.
Iblees's attacks are relentless. He can provoke, tempt, enter into, transform himself, and vex. He is a cunning trap-setter, and his prey is man. The bounty he collects is eternal damnation. He loves to manipulate and control, and his most dreaded weapon is death. He convinces theologians that he is non-existent, and thereby gains his strongest foothold.
Iblees's greatest temptations are hurled against "good people" not the drunkards, liars, thieves, adulteresses, and murderers. He already controls them.
The most catastrophic blunder man can make is the attempt to combat Iblees without submitting to Allah. Many are disarmed by believing Iblees is not fierce. We must decide to submit to Allah. To resist Iblees without submitting to Allah is only half the strategy. But even after recognizing the enemy and deciding to seek help, we must still put on the armor. God's arsenal is open to us. The battle array comes in all sizes.
NATION WITHIN A NATION BY STEVE
I have been reading lot of different articles through our local newspapers and online journals. What I found was there is a great division amongst our community. When we look into atolls, islands within atolls, communities and social systems are not functioning as unified entity. We need our political and social system to focus and bring unifications for the disunities within our nation. When we talk about the division we are not only talking about the present day. This phenomenon has gone way back into our history and it is engraved in our untold history books. No leaders, even the current regime has ever combat and done anything to integrate the society. The simple fact is that the unjust system which has been practiced for the past decades has divided the nation more than anyone could ever imagine today.
Bearing in mind the controversial comment which made by the late and former minister Hon Ibrahim Shihab; in his speech he made this comment: ‘Kihinehthoa vanee dhiyadhoveege (gutter) dhekolhun fen faibanna?’ This is a very bold and racial comment which he made. What he said was what will happen if the government focuses to develop other parts of the country especially southern region rather than focusing the capital island? This particular quotation cautions to his regime if they provide better education and development to other atolls as like the bold community (in this case Male’) then they will be confronted with more pressures and face serious challenges from those factions. He left this quotation to his fellow cohorts to think and develop strategies to bring prosperity and wealth to a one particular place within the nation. Evidently their unfair strategies has been implemented and in place for almost three decades as like a gutter system. How a developed and educated society could brazens out with barbarism? Barbarism comes with no education and through arrogant and ignorant people. On the other hand letting to develop the minds of the people and infrastructure of a community unveils the prosperity of a society as a whole.
For example, if my fellow citizens are from South or North then people is been demonized by other sect of the population. Especially if they are from Male’ then people think they should be treated with supremacy and respect than their fellow islanders. Why our young generations are not been told that we are all islanders. Of course the nation is an island nation and we all are islanders we all came from Islands. Why some sect of the population has marked us as islanders. I am an islander and I am proud to say that but the way they put this phenomenon is just like nothing but a racial discrimination. When you meet your brothers and sisters the first thing they put you through is an ethnical test “where you from?”....if your answer is from Addoo then no matter how hard you try to tell them you are same as like them and their response will be “ummm Addoo dhoa..ummm varah foohivey Addoo meehundheke”. So if you are from this labeled region then you are tagged as an unpopular citizen within the society for the rest of your life. Even now this is happening within the juvenile current political system. What about MDP presidential election? Have you heard the internal political fights between candidates? Just see from your own perspective views and then you will realize that this phenomenon is an unending rivalry within the hearts of our nation. After decades of hardship we are still living a nation within a nation. Whose is going to deal with it…you or me? I leave that honorable quotation for you and Allah may bless us with dignity, respect and harmony within our small nation. Amen!
I have watched the CD and I would comment that all the media, plus politics and everyone seems to be always talking about the devil background of Maumoon. I think everyone knows about it and they are well aware. I just wish some one or even a political party would come up with an agenda or a strategy that will do better than what maumoon did for us. It is the time for people to have a hope of a better future as they are tired of this regime, not just political promises of free education and free health services. We need a solution to our main problems such as corruption and Drugs. If we can come up with a strategy and implement it to eliminate the grass root of even these two problems, it would be a great achievement. We know Maumoon is devil But i think it is time for us to think about a solution rather than talking about all the problems. "Be a part of of the solution, than being a part of the problem." AHMED..
